Shwayze does it again with his new W.E.E.D. (We Evolve Every Day) EP. This time around he throws something a little different than his normal stuff at us. This 9 track banger consists of dubstep, electronica, hip-hop, rap, & acoustic, featuring Mark Rosas, Paul Couture, & world-known Adele. Overall it has amazing production and sends off that feel-good vibe Shwayze is always trying to spread. EXCLUSIVE 662ONLINE REVIEW & WRITE UP OF
JOHN PAUL'S "NOW OR NEVER" VOLUME 1 MIXTAPE

After seeing John Paul's controversial "Freshmen Class Bully" article in the March Freshmen Class 2012 XXL Magazine, I was like damn, "that’s some gangsta shit, I'm going to have to go check this cat's music out " (good marketing on John Paul's part) but now to the music. John Paul's Mixtape "Now or Never" is a decent listen with only 11tracks; I actually enjoyed 8 of them.

The Best song on The Mixtape is "Marijuana "ft GOLDRU$H, it has an incredible Dr. Dre/Snoop Dogg West Coast banger sound to it. GOLDRU$H is perfect for the hook & the production is excellent! John Paul displays some clever punch lines on this track dedicated to getting high off that super Cali. Lines like "me without weed that aint gone happen, that’s like AZ wit a CD going platinum" are sure to keep listeners wanting to hear more. I severely suggest John Paul take a flight out to the west coast & shoot a video for this song with the 64 Impalas, beautiful girls, vatos, & of course should make a stop by Buds & Roses Collective Dispensary for some dope footage of that "Marijuana"

My 2nd fav song on the Mixtape is "Beatin Down The Block," it's a perfect summer time riding song, especially for all those hustla's riding 20' and ups, with the bangin' systems, pissing off  neighbors when you ridin down the block. The hook is simple but effective, one listen & you’ll be repeating it over & over. I can hear this song being played @ sporting events & house parties everywhere. Perfect track for the car.

You Cant be from Florida & not have a song for the drug dealers & killers, well John Paul brings that gutter street shit on the "Dope Boys" The beat is hard, it's some shit I can see Rick Ross talking bout bricks on.

The thing I do like bout John Paul is that he really tells his story, on "City life' featuring the impeccable GOLDRU$H on the hook. It makes people to have something to relate to instead of that "Rap on Radio" the mainstream force feeds down people's throat.

"I Want You" has potential to be a big hit (radio smash) or at least a dance club favorite for the ladies. It’s natural that John Paul being from Florida, that this song sounds like a mix of Flo Rida & that 90's Miami bass boomin' booty shaking music. The chorus really shines; it’s repetitive & catchy like Akon & T-Pain wrote it. A video with a bunch a girls shaking they ass, is needed for this bangin track.

John ends the Mixtape with a song called "Problems," I like the song but it’s just another cliché song bout a rapper talking bout the problems he has in life. as humans we go through many problems, so this song I would skip, but this might actually be one of John Paul’s strongest songs & people may love it just because he does keep it super real.

"Now or Neva" Vol 1, is the title of this project, but after hearing & seeing the moves that John Paul is making, seems like "Now or Never" is his life's motto!

This is my first review on 662, my MOB cohorts told me to listen to the Cleveland Natives (The Kick Drums') new Mixtape “Follow the Leaders.” After hearing a couple songs, I was like, “Yo, you should let me review this shit, cuz this shit GOES HAAARD, not HAAARD as in GANGSTA HAARD, but its so dope, that’s its HARD, and it makes me wanna go out and STAB someone bigger than me when Im done listening to it.. So speaking of GANGSTA, this Mixtape got everyone from Freddie Gibbs, Rockie Fresh, to Machine Gun Kelly, Cassey Veggies, Mr. Muthafuckin’ eXquire and more on it. This Mixtape ranges from Hip Hop to Indie Rock type Vocals, with trippy drums, guitars and electronic sounds. Each artist on this Mix had a chance to step outside of the box to stand up to a Kick Drum track. “Want My Blood” with Rockie Fresh & DZ Deathrayz, which has a Dope Video goes super hard, tight beat, good flow, crazy shit all mixed up. Reminds of the time, I punched this fucker so HARD, on one side of the face, BLOOD came out his other EAR and he bled so much he was like I “Want My Blood” and "my hearing back"… Anyways, other stand outs on this Mixtape are Machine Gun Kelly’s “My Life” where MGK goes in on a story line about some things in his life, before he got "Almost Famous" but the lyrics goes hard, beat is super chill and catchy. Speaking of Catch-y, this one Jogger caught a CLOTHES LINE on North Ave last year for wearing too tight of spandex in public, shit fucking pissed me off. So when Im pissed off, Im gonna bump “Death Wish” by Mr. Muthfuckin eXquire & Maluca. The chanting throughout the track, while talking about Death Wish, gives you evil thoughts, then when the hook comes in, it switches up and you be like “OKAY IM GONNA LET YOU LIVE”, then it switches up again to these super ILL vocals..this beat just goes real hard. Then The Kick Drums song “Safer Than Heaven” appears to be one of their vintage songs with ill guitars, claps, and catchy vocals. This whole Mixtape is a banger for the hip hop fan who is an actual “Music Head” or for the one who appreciates music and production. The other tracks on this Mixtape is exactly what you would expect from The Kick Drums which is fantastic original production, signature vocals, great song producing, and a great selection of features. This is a MUST FUCKING HAVE on your iPod, iPad, iPhone, Droid, or in your Car, at home on the stereo system or whatever the fuck. This is Joey Doves and I say what the FUCK I want, and I barely like anyone or anything and Im saying “I FUCKS WIT THE KICKDRUMS” so if you got something to say about it, Im gonna throw a FUCKING DART AT YOUR HEAD… Oh Yea, One More Thing, Freddie Gibbs’ verse goes the FUCK IN……PEACE TIL NEXT TIME FUCKERS..

I Rate "Follow the Leaders" as a MUST FUCKING HAVE

ILL LEGIT - AUDIO INNUENDO

April 9th 2012

Alright first off I'm going to be honest. When I was given this album to review I was a little skeptical because I'm against writing about music just to write about it. I gotta dig the shit. They say "don't judge a book by it's cover" well the same goes for music; "don't judge an album by its cover." I was expecting that hard ass rap that wasn't even over much of a beat (as a tiny ass white girl, I'm not into all of that). I was way off. Ill Legit is killin it on this album. If I could describe it in one word: FLOW. This whole thing just rides front to back. It provides you with smooth vocals, smooth beats, sexy songs, and just that classic vibe. Ill Legit also couldn't have picked a better album name "Audio Innuendo" with all his clever lyrics he is spittin on this for the ladies. I highly suggest you check out this Chicago native who is known for performing with people such as Lupe Fiasco, The Roots, Red Man & Method man, and more. I guarantee you he will win you over.

My key tracks: "We Make Love" ,"You Lose", "She's Possessed", & the bonus track "Don't Look Back"
(Pretty sure that's enough key tracks for ya'll to make the free download worth it!)
